South Korean Electronics giant Samsung is yet to make any confirmation about its first Android Go smartphone. However, the Android Go Smartphone is rumoured to have been leaked for the past few weeks now. There are reports that some have seen the leaked hardware in some images. The leaked images reveal the Samsung handset with apps like Google Go, Maps Go, and YouTube Go that are basically meant for the Smartphones running Android Oreo (Go edition). The stock Android experience, however, seems to be missing. Not only that, the leaked model in the images appears to run Samsung’s proprietary Experience UX.

Expected Variants of the Leaked Android Go Smartphone

There are also certain reports that claimed that the Android Go Smartphone model will debut as the Galaxy J2 Core. To same is expected to be available in multiple variants with likely model numbers SM-J260F, SM-J260M, and SM-J260G. From looking the leaked images, courtesy SamMobile, the unknown Samsung Smartphone doesn’t have any thin bezels or a wider aspect ratio that is trending in the market currently. The model does include a group of Google’s Android Go Smartphone apps, including Google Go, Maps Go, and YouTube Go. It also displays Android 8.1 version to confirm its identity as an Android Go Smartphone. Although stock android experience is the current trend as in the Lava Z50, Micromax Bharat Go, and Nokia 1, Samsung’s latest offering runs Samsung Experience UX and not stock Android.

The purpose of the Android Go Smartphone is not to offer a vanilla Android experience. But rather to deliver an optimized experience on basic hardware. The official Android Go website also doesn’t promise the experience of stock Android on devices based on the Android Go programme. This possibly is the reason why Samsung is going back to its native UI experience.

Design of the Leaked Android Go Smartphone

The rear side of the Android Go Smartphone features a single camera module, with an LED flash. There is also the brand Samsung on top of a plastic rear panel.

Last month, the Android Go Smartphone was found to have multiple variants for a list of markets. This includes India, UK, Uzbekistan, Germany, Italy, Russia, and France among others. A Geekbench listing of the handset also mentioned its specs and confirmed the availability of a 5-inch Super AMOLED display and a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 7570 SoC processor. It will include 1GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, 8-megapixel rear camera sensor, 5-megapixel front camera sensor, and a 2600mAh battery.

Last words, there isn’t any confirmation on the launch of Samsung’s Android Go smartphone. But considering the increase in the number of leaks and rumours, it could be a reality in the coming days. We will know.
