- Open System Preferences on your Mac.
- Click Sharing.
- Make sure the checkbox next to File Sharing is checked.
- Click Options.
- On the user account, check to allow sharing with a Windows PC under Windows Files Sharing. (If you are asked to enter a password, do so).
- Click Done.
Now you’ve completed all the above steps. You should be able to share files between your Mac and PC while you’re on your shared local network. You’ll find any PCs on your network in the sidebar of any Finder window.
